• We are launching a major distribution campaign of the film in conjunction with the publication of BLOOD ON THE LENS: A FILMMAKER’S QUEST FOR TRUTH IN AFGHANISTAN, a book written by director Jim Burroughs that describes the making of the documentary over the last twenty years.

This year we are conducting seminars, limited theatrical screenings, book signings, TV and radio interviews across the country - whatever it takes to tell the true story of Afghanistan during this next crucial year in our nation’s history.

"I begin to get frightened, but I'm going to do everything I can to survive - because I want to know what the hell is going on."

So wrote Lee Shapiro in his diary as he entered Afghanistan in 1987. “I don’t want to be motivated by either fear or pride”, he added, “but motivated by the right purpose.”
